Developing Lakes in the United States

At this time, the state of climate change has reached extreme levels according to many experts in this area. The amount of emissions released from vehicles over the past century has undoubtedly done no favors when it comes to clean air. Factories across the planet can still be seen burning fossil fuels to keep outdated forms of energy in play. As a species, humans appear to be living without a care for the environment and forget that the Earth is necessary for life. This behavior has positively impacted water life as well and has made lake management more complicated than it already is.

Countering Lake Bacteria

The proper management of lakes is a difficult task, and there a host of problems that arise when performing this activity. Most commonly, those responsible for managing lakes need to remain conscious of the number of bacteria present in the lake. Bacteria found in lakes comes from waste produced by pets and wildlife. Depending on the location of the lake, the negligent disposal of toxic substances such as sewage can also raise bacteria levels in lakes. When this type of activity occurs, people are not allowed to swim until the lake’s level of bacteria is brought back down to safe levels. When notices of bacteria are present around lakes, it is essential to take note and proceed with caution.

Countering Lake Toxicants

While there are generally garbage baskets and other forms of proper waste disposal, lakes can become filled with metals and other substances that are toxic to the lake’s ecosystem. These poisonous contents may not seem like a big deal at first, but this toxicity can be passed to humans after eating the wildlife. Lake managers should keep guidelines visible for attendees to ensure they are following the ecosystem of the lake intact.
